Hi, I’m Alex.
Somewhere between Mediterranean summers, long island stays, and taking far too many ferries, I figured out what kind of traveler I am. The slow kind. The easily distracted kind. And definitely the kind who needs more time than originally planned.
I’ll be honest with you. I’m not as organized as what you’ll find on this site. Building Her Passport Life is partly how I’m teaching myself to be. I’ve been working remotely for the same company for 8 years. The only reason I have a 9-to-5 is because it keeps me organized. Don’t tell my managers, they might think I don’t love my job. I do. It gives me the life I want and I know how lucky I am for that. Though I’m pretty sure they’re jealous when I join Teams calls from very good views.
ADHD means a packed itinerary lasts about one day before I abandon it for a random village I spotted from the car window. So I stay longer. I find a base, I rent a car, I figure out where locals actually eat. Two weeks minimum, usually more.
I’m good at photographing other people. When the camera turns on me, I have no idea what to do with my hands. I’m hoping this site teaches me that too. At least to remember to pose, to remember to take the photo. And maybe one day, to actually stay somewhere as long as I planned.
Love, Alex
